pub classics done VERY well

The Unicorn Hotel is now owned by a ratbag crew of mates from some of Sydney’s most iconic hospitality names Porteno, Mary’s and Young Henrys.

The newly refurbed Unicorn Hotel in Sydney’s Paddington has hit the nail on the head when it comes to bringing back the best of a good ol’ Aussie pub. Dart board, pool table, friendly service and an old-school menu full of stuff we love, done really well.

On a cold winter’s day, we happily tucked into some hearty Scotch Fillet with sides of crinkle cut fries, peas and gravy – and some classic Paul Kelly on the juke!

The well-thought out menu is equally well executed by chef Richie Learmonth. And if appears we’re not the only ones to agree – The Unicorn was recently voted Best Pub Food 2106 by Time Out Sydney Pub Awards.

There are many classics on the menu that turn out to be much tastier than you might expect. Think Jatz with French Onion Dip to start followed by a beautiful Hombrae chicken schnitzel (wing intact); a Mary’s Burger or a Fancy Steak.

Whatever your taste, there’ll be something to take you on a trip down memory lane, in all the right ways.

N&S proudly supply the Scotch Fillet steak on the menu – 100% grass fed for flavour and tenderness, we’ve got Greenstone Creek  Beef ready for your next order.
